Flowers are the lifeblood of a beautiful wedding day celebration. Flowers are a multi dimensional part of your decorating strategy. They are beautiful, elegant, and provide a wonderful scent. The flowers you choose should compliment everything else in your wedding. Its colors should complement not just your dress. The colors of your flowers should flow with the colors of the décor of your reception site and the ceremony location.

Unless you are a florist, you’ll need to hire one. The florist should be experienced with wedding arrangements. Make sure your florist is able to deliver, install, and remove the arrangements at the end of your event. Even though many reception halls can recommend a florist to you, you should do your homework. Ask for references, and be sure to follow up. It may be tempting to hire a florist without check references, but it could also be irresponsible.

Your wedding flowers should complement the season, your wedding dress, and your color scheme. Your wedding flowers should also complement your attendants' attire, and the style of your wedding. Before you talk to your florist, prepare a list of wedding flowers you'll need. It will help focus your discussions, and help you stay within your budget.

When you discuss the flower arrangements with your florist, she should be able to recommend arrangements based on the size and location of your wedding. Ask to see photos of previous wedding arrangements, which will give you a feel for their creative qualities and what you can expect to see on your wedding day. It is even better if you arrive prepared with some pictures and magazine cut outs with your ideas.

You don’t have to take the florist’s advice on everything. If you feel strongly about a certain flower or color, it should worth fighting for it. It is your wedding, and you are the customer. You have to feel good about your flower arrangements.

About the Author: Wedding Favors Wedding favors, personalized wedding favors and bridal shower gifts.

Source: http://www.isnare.com/

Permanent Link: http://www.isnare.com/?aid=29393&ca=Marriage

Your comments are welcome.

Addressing Wedding Invitations - Etiquette For Addressing Formal Wedding Invitations

By Mary A Jane

Depending on who you are sending a wedding invitation to, there are various etiquette rules for addressing the inner and outer envelope. The outside of the envelope is usually more formal than the inner envelope. The outer envelope uses the tile and full name of the invitee. Since the outer envelope is usually formal, how should you address this envelope to various guests?

Usually, when you address an outer envelope to a couple that is married, use the husband’s full name and use Mr. and Mrs. For example, you would address an envelope to a married couple: Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Chandler. However, you would not use such formal etiquette on an invitation that you send to your close relatives. If this is the case, on the invitation you send to a close loved ones by the name you typically call them such as Aunt Katie and Uncle Vincent.

What if you want to invite a couple that is not married but they are living together? There is still etiquette that you can use in order to address the inner and outer envelopes of the wedding invitation. On the outside of the envelope, use Miss for the female instead of Mrs. On the outer envelope you can write Miss Daphne Horten and Mr. Alex Doe.

If you would like to address the invitation to your wedding to the couple as well as their children, there is another format that you can use. You would address the outer envelope as described above but you would also add the first name of the children under the names of the parents on the inside envelope. Remember that the proper etiquette is to use only the first names of the children on the wedding invitations.

If you are inviting a single female, use Miss Daphne Horten and if you are inviting a single male friend, use Mr. Alex Doe. On the inside envelope you can indicate whether they can bring a date by writing their name and adding “and Guest.” If you do not want to have an extra person at the wedding that you might not know, leave the “and Guest” part off of the inner envelope. If you have a single friend that is divorced, use the name that she kept. If she decided to go by her maiden name, you may put Miss and not Ms. in front of her name.

If one of your guests has a title such as judge, doctor or any military title, use the proper title in front of the individual’s name on the outside envelope. Etiquette states that only the title and last name should be on the inside envelope.

Wedding envelope etiquette may seem confusing in the beginning but writing addresses on wedding envelopes is actually not that hard. It might help you to list your guests according to who is married, who is living together, those with a title and so on so you do not have to switch formats too often.

About the Author: Confused with wedding invitation etiquette when grooms parents are deceased? Your hairstyle can either add to the perfect picture or distract from it! Nothing could be worse than a bad hair day the day of your ceremony!

Most brides either go the day before their wedding or get up early the day of the wedding to visit the hair salon; this could be a fatal mistake! Your hair needs time to adjust to the new style, especially if it's a radical change, so it's a good idea to visit your stylist a few weeks before your big event.

Remember you want to select a style that will stay in place and not fall all over the place or be blown around by the slightest breeze. Should you wear your hair up or down; curly or straight; do you need to add highlights or change the color? These are all important decisions and should be considered long before your special day; don't make the mistake of waiting till the last minute for that perfect hair style!

Your comments on this post are welcome.

So much to do...so little time!

"He proposed to me and I said yes...now what do I do?" This is a common question after the initial shock wears off. Getting married is not a simple thing; there is so much to do and so little time! Here are just a few things that you need to start planning. The main thing is to get organized early and take one step at a time.

who will pay for what

when and where will you get married

should this be a big wedding or a small one

who should you invite or not invite

what about a photographer

who is a good caterer

where will the reception be; should it be buffet or sit down meal

what kind of entertainment should you have at reception

who should be bridesmaids, maid of honor, best man and groomsmen

what about a good florist

where should we get our wedding rings

how about a wedding gown, and tuxedos and dresses for bridesmaids

who will design an awesome yet affordable wedding cake

what is the etiquette for rehearsal dinner

where will we go on our honeymoon

This is only a partial list of the many things that must be decided upon when planning for your wedding day.
